Roy Isbel resides in Bristol, Virginia and is married to Wife, Mattie.  He was educated at the University of North Alabama, with a degree in Music with a major in Voice.  Roy has served as music director of churches in Birmingham, Alabama, Harriman, Tennessee, and Bristol, Tennessee for the past 35 years.  He has conducted music that ranged from Gaither gospel to Anthems to Oratorio, including The Messiah, The Creation, The Seven Last Words (done with a full orchestra and choir.   During the last 10 years he has sung and done concerts in 10 different states and 5 foreign countries.  Several years ago he was invited to do 3 concerts in Guatemala City, Guatemala on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Christian mission work in that country.  His most recent director position before coming to Green Spring Presbyterian Church was at Elizabeth Chapel, UMC, where he spent 4 years.  Roy has worked as a consultant and traveled all over the world.  He is mostly retired from his other duties and enjoys spending time with his music and the many talented musicians who regularly worship here.
