CareMinistry Brief

GSPC has been ministering to our neighbors at the Green Spring Rest Home for about 30 years. Each resident is adopted by one of our families who remember them on their birthdays, Christmas and other important times. Once a month a church group such as the elders, scouts, deacons, circles, choir, CE, CM and Sunday school sponsor a birthday party. We celebrate the birthdays of the month with singing, a short story, food, and sometimes games. For Christmas we have a church wide involvement with some 70 individuals of GSPC involved in giving gifts or helping with the food and the party. We need individual sponsors at times and help with the parties and food. There are often new residents who need to be adopted. Please let me know if you are interested in joining in this ministry. The residents look forward to our coming so much, and each of us come away feeling very blessed. Mary Jane 676-0663.

Volunteers do yard work and tidy up the property of Hope Humphery, a dear member of the congregation who lives alone in her home near the church. Many people, both pictured here, and not pictured here, do little blessings for our senior citizens who can no longer do all of the work around their homes or apartments.  This particular project was headed by the Session's Outreach Committee chaired by Preston Brown
